In addition to NPH’s ongoing policy, advocacy, capacity building, and public education work, we also undertake targeted, focused campaigns designed to produce tangible results. Learn more about our campaigns by clicking on the links below:

The Great Communities Collaborative (GCC) – A unique collaboration between NPH and three other regional non-profits as well as three community foundations, the Great Communities Collaborative was formed to carry out the vision for equitable and sustainable growth in the Bay Area through planning for walkable, transit-friendly communities.

The Bay Area Inclusionary Housing Initiative (IHI) – In 2004, NPH joined forces with a visionary group of funders to launch the Bay Area Inclusionary Housing Initiative to pass or strengthen inclusionary policies in the Bay Area’s fastest growing cities and counties in order to increase affordable housing for working class families.

The Marin Community Housing Action Initiative (MCHAI) – Spearheaded and funded by the Marin Community Foundation, the Marin Community Housing Action Initiative is a partnership between NPH, Greenbelt Alliance, and MCF. The goal of MCHAI is to overcome key impediments to the development of affordable housing in Marin County by bringing together housing developers, advocacy groups, environmental groups to work together.

Zone for Homes - Zone for Homes is a multi-year project to increase affordable housing production through land use planning and zoning. The campaign will analyze whether Bay Area cities zoned enough land to create the housing needed by their communities in the last housing element period. The campaign will also engage local communities to advocate for a strong housing element that will create more affordable housing in this upcoming housing element period.
