2. Use the Model

1.     Determine the Traffic Analysis Zone (TAZ) of your proposed project

In the future, this website will contain a simple map to determine which of the 1099 MTC TAZ's your project is in.  In the meantime, this is the temporary way to figure out the TAZ using the Location Efficient Mortgage (LEM) Website:

Steps
  1. Go to LEM's SF Worksheet Page. (If you click now, a new window will open)
  2. Enter any income, and the Address for your project (or nearby address).  Click the "Calculate LEV" Button
  3. The Line "Zip Code Plus 4 [          ] in Zone [TAZ]" will provide your TAZ.
(If this does not work and you are familiar with GIS applications, MTC's TAZs are available as shapefiles at MTC's DataMart you can contact Chuck Pervis, at MTC.)

2.     Download the Housing Development Vehicle Ownership Model

This information is currently available on an Excel spreadsheet, which you can download via the link below.

3. Enter the Traffic Analysis Zone and Development Details into Model

When you enter the Traffic Analysis Zone, it automatically looks up the model inputs for that zone (households per residential acre, households per total acre, transit accessibility index, ped/bike friendliness factor)

4. Provide Feedback

Please let us know if this model was useful.  Was it persuasive? Easy to use? If you used it, take a minute to give your feedback on the model.  Thank you.
