2. Age and Vehicle Ownership
This section looks at the vehicle ownership patterns of households which are
composed completely of persons who are seniors. Thus the data has direct
relevance of the parking needs of affordable senior housing developments.
Of course, vehicle ownership rates will vary in different locations, however,
the data shows that senior households own significantly fewer vehicles than
households at large.

As the table below shows, vehicle ownership rates decline as the age
increases from 62, to 65, to 75.
